"Singharaja" Rain Forest Excursion with camping

'KUDAWA' ECO TEAM CAMP [ Mahoora Standard / Mahoora Luxury ] is located on a peninsula in the forest and surrounded by two rivers (deep enough for swimming) and just beyond a tea plantation (where you will see the traditional tea pluckers in action). Even without leaving the camp itself, so much can be seen - so let the nature come to you!

The peaceful camp is an ideal location for early morning Bird Watching before a fascinating nature trail through the forest. Forget any ideas about cramped tents and sitting on the ground for meals - this is camping in style! The camp is set up prior to your arrival, transporting in comfortable tents, a fully equipped kitchen, chairs and tables, hammocks, flushable toilets, showers and even cold beer for purchase . On your return from the afternoon nature trail, you will be welcomed with a hearty barbecue meal in a magical setting - the whole area is lit up with traditional flame torches and a roaring campfire. So sit back, relax and let our experienced staff cater to your every need.

• Arrival at "Singharaja" gate office around 12.00 in the noon for lunch.
• Clients can walk to the Kudawa camp (10minuts walk) or travel in their own vehicles 200m closer to the camp.
• Leaving for the forest exploration after lunch around the camp vicinity. (any no.of hours)
• Dinner & overnight stay at a fully serviced movable camp. Which is based on a peninsula. Surrounded by two rivers.

Clients will have an early breakfast or with packed breakfast & lunch for a full day Singharaja forest exploration.

Sinharaja

Dense, Dark, Wet and mysterious 11187 Ha "Singharaja" primeval forest is a rich treasure trove of nature with a great diversity of habitats and a vast repository of Sri Lanka's endemic species found no where else in the world. Named as a world Heritage site in 1989, this lowland evergreen rain forest is steeped in deep legend and mystery.

The world "Sinharaja" means, Lion (Sinha) King (Raja) and the popular beliefs that the legendary origin of Sinhala people in Sri Lanka is the descendants of the union the lion king who once lived in the forest and a princess.

Back to the camp in the evening.

B.B.Q Dinner & overnight stay at the camp

Leaving the camp after beakfast. Clients can explore the forest or depart to the next destination before 11 Am .

• Personal effects for Warm/Windy/Rainy conditions should be carried by clients.
• Insect repellent, Sunburn lotion etc. are recommended.
• Light clothes & trekking shoes / boots recommended for forest exploration

PAYMENT POLICY

Full payment with the confirmation

CANCELLATION POLICY :

• 90 Days to 30 Days - 250 US $ Administrative fee or 10% of the tour fee which ever is higher.
• 14 Days to 29 Days - 250 US $ admin fee will be charged and 50 % of the tour cost will be kept to be utilized for a future booking. Balance will be refunded.
• 8 Days to 13 Days - 250 US $ admin fee will be charged and 75 % of the tour cost will be kept to be utilized for a future booking. Balance will be refunded.
• Less than 7 days - 250 US $ admin fee will be charged and 100 % of the tour cost will be kept to be utilized for a future booking.

Naturally our ready made programmes will come cheaper than the tailor make programmes. How ever we are flexible enough to do minor changes to the ready made itineraries, with out any charge.? Please write to us

Do you own programme – Visit the location and activity pages on our site and you will come across mini tours in all of those pages. By combining them you can design your own tour. We will complete it by adding on the hotels and other cultural locations you may require.

Your tour will be handled by an experienced travel consultant who will provide a personalized service.

On certain occasions our standard programmes could be cheaper  than a tailor made programme for a specific client. But rest assured that we are flexible enough to effect minor changes to a standard programme as required by you,  our valuable clients  & offer same at no extra cost. You also have the facility of designing your own  programmes by visiting our location and activity pages on the website and accessing the mini tours segment in those pages & selecting an appropriate combination. Our experienced travel consultants  will then add the finishing touches to the programme & provide a costing based on same.
