Due to the fact that vehicles cannot be driven away from the main road that runs through the park, Horton Plains is a, PARTICIPATORY CAMPING location so that guests are involved in the whole process of setting up the camp.

Although park regulations prohibit the lighting of campfires, we can still create a magical setting with lanterns, and wonderful surrounding views of the plains themselves and the flora and fauna that are present (especially watch out for leopards!)  N.B. Due to the altitude of the park, be prepared for sometimes cold and windy weather.
