All the hotels and campsites are accessible by Mobility Vehicles and all the rooms would be in close proximity to public areas like restaurants and bars, lobbies, swimming pools, etc. Where hotels cannot provide ground floor rooms, elevators will be available to access upper floors, using the mobility vehicles.

All tour vehicles utilised including MPVs, coaches and the safari vehicles, will have ample space for your luggage and the mobility vehicle. An electronic elevated platform or a tailor-made portable ramp will ensure our guests’ mobility vehicles can easily board and disembark without a hassle.

We allow our guests to experience the locality at its best, our stops for sightseeing & activities are chosen based on your abilities. If you need the service of a carer to push your wheelchair during the tour, we are always happy to provide the services required.

    Arrival in Colombo & Drive to Negombo

    The start of your holiday in Sri Lanka, just ease into it. Depending on what time you arrive, it really is up to you to decide what you would like to do on your brief stop here. You may fancy a boat ride on Negombo’s Dutch Canal which weaves an interesting route around the city, or you may just like to linger on the beach. If you choose to venture out, Hotel Road teems with bars and seafood restaurants to check out.

    Off to Wilpattu National Park

    An early morning start will see you heading to the fish market to watch the day’s catch coming in, experience the process of wholesale fish trading and also to learn about the process of drying fish. Afterwards you’ll be heading to Wilpattu.
    Your accommodation will be quite unique during this leg of the journey as you will be staying in an accessible tent, glamping style, with all the modern amenities. The secure campsite is situated right on the border of the Park, which means that there will be plenty of safe encounters without even leaving the camp premises.
    Among things to do in Sri Lanka, Wilpattu National Park is a multi-faceted treasure: on your afternoon jeep safari, you will get a sense of this sprawling landscape: from low scrub forests, wetlands to tall ebony and milla trees, and its iconic lakes - getting its vernacular name which means ten lakes. “The Land of Lakes” is the biggest and 2nd oldest Wildlife Park of Sri Lanka. Look out for its wildlife, especially the elusive Sri Lankan leopard and numerous birds.
    At the end of the safari, a delicious BBQ dinner under the stars awaits you at the campsite.

    Heading to Sigiriya, En-route visit to Anuradhapura

    After a solid night’s rest, we’ll take you again for a morning Guided Safari with packed breakfast. This gives you more opportunities to see different wildlife in action. Then you will drive to Sigiriya via Anuradhapura. You will stop at Anuradhapura and it’s the first ancient capital of Sri Lanka with ruins. This vast city is full of amazing ancient Sri Lankan architecture and you will visit: Ruwanwelisaya - one of the world's tallest ancient monuments which houses the Buddha’s relics, Thuparamaya - the first Buddhist temple, Lovamahapaya - a nine storied skyscraper of the ancient world, Isurumuniya - famous for its intriguing carvings, the 4th century CE Samadhi Statue carved out of dolomite marble, Kuttam Pokuna and Eth Pokuna - elaborately constructed bathing ponds, and the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi - the 2,250 year-old sacred Bo tree, grown from the southern branch of the sacred Bo tree under which the Buddha gained enlightenment.

    Explore Second Oldest Ancient Kingdom; Polonnaruwa

    Today you will be visiting the Monkey project, which filmed the famous documentary “Monkey Kingdom”. Next, the 13th century mediaeval capital of Sri Lanka; Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa, with its ruins in a resplendent state of preservation, was the Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th to 13th century. The ancient city defended by enclosing walls, is dotted with palaces, shrines, monasteries, pavilions, parks, ponds and irrigation lakes. The Gal Vihara temple complex, cut from a single granite wall, consists of statues of the recumbent, standing and seated Buddha and ranks among the masterpieces of Sri Lankan art.

    Drive to Hill Country, En-route visit Dambulla; Kandy

    A short drive after breakfast will bring you to the Dambulla fruit & vegetable market which is a massive hub for fresh produce trading. After touring the market and sampling various produce, you will head over to the Dambulla Cave Temple. You can explore the lower temple of this World Heritage Site.
    Then, a scenic drive will get you to Kandy and overnight stay at a hotel.

    Explore Hill Country; Kandy

    Today you will visit Royal Botanical Gardens in an Electric Cart, a stunning, 60-hectare garden with its fine collection of orchids and spice gardens. There is also the extraordinary cannonball fruit tree and 40m-high Burma bamboo.
    After a delicious lunch you will resume your journey to visit the Temple of the Tooth (the Sri Dalada Maligawa, where the sacred relic of a tooth belonging to Lord Buddha is kept) and also witness a daily sacred ritual known as Thewawa.

    Drive to Little England; Nuwara Eliya

    Sightseeing this quaint town will be peaked by your visit to a tea factory. With incredible dexterity and speed, versatile women pluck tea leaves filling up their tea sacks every day. At the tea factory, you will see the entire process of how tea is made from scratch, from tea bush to teapot.
    In the factory, with an expert tea maker, you will go through the entire tea-making process: from withering to grading. Similar to wine tasting, tea tasting is an art and at the end of the process, you will be guided to attempt tasting some of the tea varieties.

FAQs

What happens after I confirm the tour?

When it comes to the accommodation, all the reservations are subject to availability at the time of confirmation, and as soon as we have received the payment, our Tour Operations Team will take in charge of your tour and proceed with the reservations. In case a hotel mentioned in your itinerary has no availability, we will find you an alternative. No changes will be done without your approval!

Will I receive a schedule with exact timings for my tour?

We will make a rough day-by-day schedule for your tour, but won’t set you exact timings for each and every activity - unless there is a an activity which start at a specific time. Since you will be traveling by private vehicle, with a knowledgeable driver-guide, we want you to have your part in decision making. With the help from him, you may tune the schedule to your rhythm.

Am I allowed to do any extra stops or visits?

Along the destinations included in your itinerary, you are free to take as many stops as you want to. When it comes to additional visits and destinations that are located out of the original route, the extra kilometers will be taken in consideration. For your journey, we will calculate a total mileage that is sufficient for the whole tour and mentioned in your itinerary. If this limit is exceeded, we will charge a supplement according the extra mileage.

Am I allowed to do any changes to my itinerary during the tour?

We’ll do our best to accommodate the programme in your needs and wishes, if something urgent occurs during your tour. In a situation that requires changing the accommodation, the cancellation policies of the hotels concerned are to be taken on account.

Will I need a visa?

Since the 1st of January 2012, all travelers must be in possession of a visa when arriving in Sri Lanka. Citizens from Singapore and The Maldives are the only exempt. Visitors can apply for the official Electronic Travel Authorization (visa) via www.eta.gov.lk, or upon arrival at the airport. There is a small fee to pay, and you must have at least six months left on your passport at the time of travel to obtain one.

Are credit cards widely accepted?

MasterCard and Visa are widely used and accepted by many local shops, restaurants and hotels, but it’s always better to double check. Other major cards such as AmEx and DinersClub are accepted often also.
